10. Visting my family in Mass: Last time I was there was in summer of ’99. I saw my older brother Marc for the first time in 5 years and he has finally become an all around good guy. If you don’t know Marc is has a mental disability and has problems remembering certain things but know he is the best I ever seen him. Hopefully he stays that way and hopefully one day he can be closer to me.9. Getting accepted to a film school: Granted, it didn’t pan out but it surely boosted my ego to a place it’s never been boosted. I was on cloud nine for most of the beginning of 2007 and I rode it until it crashed in June but alas it was good while it lasted.
8. Red Sox again reclaim World Series: This really isn’t my own thing but I have been a fan since I could remember and if you grew up in Mass you were bred into a fan. They came back and won and that makes two titles in my lifetime. Of course there’s a bunch of bandwagon jumpers out there and people are labeling them the new Evil Empire but I say forget that mess. Sox have chemistry and a good office behind them.
7. Hollywood Sign: Seriously, I was like 50 feet away from it. The climb up the hill was amazing. And to actually see something people only see in movies and TV was surreal. I was standing where many never stood. Sure I could of stared at it through an observatory deck or something but I was a man and men climb rugged hills and stand tall. The run down wasn’t too fun as I was full speed all the way down and almost face planted. And it was on the day after my birthday.
6. Flying across the country: It didn’t start off good as I left super early and landed in the ATL like three minutes before my plane took off. I jetted all the way across the airport and just missed the plane. So I had to rebook my flight and wait 7 HOURS. A seven hour layover. But the good thing was first class baby. But first class, overrated. So I flew first class to Boston. Then I flew from Boston all the way to Los Angeles. Talk about jetlag. I slept for two days. But it was fun none the less.
5. Seeing/living with Derek, one of my best friends: So when I was living in LA I was living with a bunch of cokeheads and scenesters. But when Derek told me I could live with him in Orange County, Newport Beach to be exact, I jumped ship down there and got to live in the most expensive county in America. It was fun. I got to meet lots of weird people and got to yell at Matt for being a child rapist. Which, by the way, made him move back to Arkansas. XD
4. Living in 2-bed/2-bath apartment for $600/month: Not only did I find this gem but it was gated and I got experience lots in the four months I lived in it. Saved Josh from North Carolina, annonyed the 20 Hispanics that lived upstairs, played loud music, had a PS3 courtesy of John, and…watched Spiderman 3.
3.Actually getting drunk more than once: I pride myself on not drinking much but when I do I go all out. But in 2007 I drank on three different occasions and all times led to me getting some digits. Lots of digits. Guess when I drink I get flirty. Who knew? But when I get wasted I sing to a toilet as I hurl my insides into it.
2. Drastic changes: So I did alot for the first time in 2007: Dyed my hair blonde in areas, wore girl pants, lived in three different states, wrote a letter to my dad(in jail), could afford to buy a super awesome phone, and walked around in Inglewood. Inglewood is not as scary as it would seem.
1. Dodge Van aka the Lester the Molestor: This was my proudest baby. Now I got it in 2006 but I think that doesn’t matter. I had fun in this. Amber and I wrote, “Free Candy” on the front and I got many comments for that which I just winked. I drove it all around Arkansas and it survived, sometimes. I broke the drive shaft twice. I moved a van full of people(Chad, Josh, Kayla Lindsey, Greg, Matt the Jew, some chick, and some other chick making eight including me) and the back didn’t have any seats in place and I drove very clumisly and they were all drunkard.
The windsheild wipers broke while I was driving in the rain from hell and turned into my work a bit too early and flew straight into a ditch. Not a single injury thanks to the safety belt. And I was late for work because of it. All in all, that van was my baby and I will miss it dearly.
So in closing, 2007 was eventful, very eventful and 2008 should surely be just as good.
